Thanksgiving
Our house isn't dirty, why should I clean? My grandpa is blind. He can't tell if there is dust or the floor needs to be vaccumed... Who are we trying to impress?
My mom is retired! Why should I clean when I get home when she has nothing to do all day? Really?
She gets upset that no one helps her cook but then she never cooks for us that often anyway so why should we help!?
*Sigh*
I hate Thanksgiving.

I don't wanna hear it
I mean, I never realized how thin the walls in my building were until yestersday when I heard...my neighbors. It could have been worse... She might have been more vocal but at 11am? Isn't that a little early? What if there were kids around... since there are a few in our building.
The funny part is how awkward it is to deal with my other neighbors in the hall while this was going on... I mean, what do you say? I just laughed and said that it was worse through my kitchen wall and this has been going on, on and off for 8 1/2 hours... They laughed.

Shopping Sucks... Especially Christmas Shopping
Soooo I get a random call from my mom today. Not bad like it could be but still not great. She's joining Facebook. I thought there were rules about this...
Oh well. So I ask for her to begin to think about what she, my dad, and my brother would like for Christmas. To be honest, I've spent over 100s of dollar on my family for Christmas before, I think that's the way it should be. Friends get stuff but not anywhere near the awesome-ness that is the gifts for my parents and brother.
David always gets a Smallville or something just as awesome because his birthday is 12/29... Sucks huh? Christmas and birthday all wrapped up in one. Bleh. My mom liked that Mamma Mia film so she's getting the 2-disc edition. She loves special features and gets secretly pissed when my dad gets her the cheaper 1-disc editions with no special features (Nobody mention Harry Potter 5 - she was pissed). I also figured that since she like the show Bones and Criminal Minds that I would get her the first seasons of each. Well... Bones for her, Criminal Minds for my dad. He likes stuff like that. I'd also get him the new Indiana Jones and Leatherheads. I'm gonna have to save up some money so I can afford this stuff!
I'm also gonna bake for my grandpa... There aren't too many things he can enjoy since my grandma died. He misses her a lot so I'm gonna use some of her recipes for him. He also like the breads that I make. I'm glad someone appreciates my cooking. :-)
Now eventually... like early to mid December, my mom will ask me what I'd like for Christmas. I hate surprises... You will know immediately that I'm not happy when I'm surprised. It will be like you've been let down. I'm usually thinking "This wasn't what I asked for... Um, should I ask for the receipt now or later... Hurry! Smile! Make them think you like it..." Yeah... I'm spoiled.
I know that I won't get anything that great or expensive from my parents so I'm going to avoid asking for the DW 4 series. Not going to happen. I also know from experience to not ask for things they can't get in a store. They don't usually plan ahead very well and yeah, ordering last minute online (as its the only place they can get it) is very expensive and makes my dad angry. Usually at this point, they give me the credit card as say that I should order it myself. ...It's sad when I do my own Christmas shopping, wrap my own gifts, and then have to act like I didn't know it was coming. That's silly.
It's the same with my brother. usually we'll go to best buy like the weekend before Christmas and we'll find stuff he can get mom and dad. Then he'll tell me to go pick out what I want. Yeah. Nice, it's true but it's a let down. Like they don't know what I'd like anymore and they might as well get me a friggin' gift card.
Best rule for me: If I want it and I don't want to be disappointed, I should buy it my damn self.
That's why I bought my baby doll shirt. That's why I bought an XBox 360. That's why I bought the DW series 3. That's why I've pre-ordered Persona 4. I know if I don't do it, I'm not going to get what I want.
- Oh... Last year, I made a word document with names, prices and locations, sizes and colors, web links, etc for my mom so she could get stuff for me. Still after all that, she decided she wanted to surprise me. She framed my 8th grade art project, and bought me a cd discman.
- ...The look on my face made my brother laugh until he cried. I was trying to hold a smile on my face but it was looking like a pained grimace. She yelled at me later when I asked if I could return the CD discman (cuz you can't take back a picture frame).
- She said I was ungrateful and that's probably true. But it was a surprise and not a very welcome one. I had that picture forever on the top shelf in our backroom (I made that 8yrs ago) though now, in a frame, in my kitchen, it's grown on me (so that one is OK). The discman was thoughtless on her part (Was that mean? Oops...), since earlier in the year my parents got me an MP3 player (which makes CDs pointless to own).
- ...My aunt got me oven mitts and hot pads... I didn't even take those out of the bag. I mean, WTF. Seriously. I don't even cook anymore and she keeps giving me cookbooks... That's nice for re-gifting though.
Hopefully we've learned from last year... I will also try not to be unhappy at things I'm surprised at. (At the very least we can do better at my birthday)
So I'm gonna make a list of things I will not cringe at and hopefully... I won't have to. Either way I can prepare myself for the inevitable let down. (I'm a pessimist what do want from me)
- Stargate Atlantis - Oh how you've failed me. I hate you and your two last seasons. I hope you burn and your cast is forever trapped in the SciFi Genre... Real actors *snort* HA!
- DW other than the 5th Doctor - I've seen all I like and still have seen them all... 1/2 the "Key to Time" Series has still not been watched. I will watch but yeah, I don't like the others anymore.
- Any other TV series - WTH I don't watch anything other than my DW, TW, and SJA (and food network) so you have no business here.
- Any books - My tastes are strange. Therefore, let me pick out my own damn books. I might like one in a series but not another... (Like that new HP fairy tale book, you can go to hell. Like the last in the Twilight series, I couldn't stomach the 3th so yeah...don't waste your money). Besides, if there is a book that I want, chances are I have it already.
- Any games/board games - Unless you've asked and I've agreed... don't even think about it. I live alone, so yeah. I'm not gonna be playing many games with people...
There aren't many things that I like anymore. I just never have time. I have games and movies that I own but yeah, no. I don't care about them anymore.
I swear if I get anymore candy from people I'll scream. I know I like sugar. I'm like a big bowl of candy myself. You could open a vein and a coagulated sugar/blood mix would ooze out... But really? Do you think that food makes me happy? (Well... some do. Like pizza and Twislers. Nasty together though.)
You know... I've just noticed how long this rant is... Holy crap! I'm a spoiled selfish brat... But but... Oh well. Nevermind.

Yes... Yes... I know. I have problems.
I had just gotten my Doctor Who series 3 dvds and I'm pretty sure I squee-d when I opened the package.
Now, the urban dictionary defines squee as "A noise primarily made by an over-excited fangirl," "A squealing sound. Can be either happy or scared," or "The cry of the rabid fangirl (Usually a rabid anime fangirl), heard across many hallways." I think I apply to the third definition listed. One can find other definitions and examples can be found at: http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=squee.
Indeed.
I'm not sure why I was so excited... While I do adore David Tennant, I'd rather squee for Peter Davidson. I do have quite a few doctor who dvds, but this one made me really happy. I think its because it is what got me interested in doctor who. I saw the "Shakespeare Code" episode and I was hooked. After that I saw all the back "new" episodes and then went further back and began to watch the 1st-7th doctor episodes.
My favorite doctors in order: 5th (Peter Davidson), 10th (David Tennant)/6th (Colin Baker), 7th (Sylvester McCoy), and 9th (Christoper Eccleson). If I like the people, I'm more likely to like stories about them.

Procrastination...
Last night, I was studying for my Therapeutics exam... but my mind was drifting. I would study, take a break, review and study more, take a break, etc... I figured that was the best way to keep my mind on the subject at hand (Infective Endocarditis, Skin and Soft-tissue infections/Bone and Joint infections, Intra-Abdominal infections, and Urinary Tract infections). Doesn't that sound like fun?
Unfortunatly... I discovered right around this time that someone posted the DW Series 4 OST. As it wasn't supposed to be up until mid-November, I got excited and stopped studying. When it finished (it took 18.6min) I listened to the whole thing like 4 times. It was brilliant! Sadly, I took so much time listening to it that it was past midnight when I finished.
That is a common occurance when I have a big exam coming up. Little things seem more important and I tend to be more easily distracted. Like a Raccoon with a reflective surface...
I also notice that I clean more when its finals week. My apartment is never as nice as during those days... Oh well.

Late at night is when it happens...
Unfortunatly I have a more pressing problem. I've started the habit of checking out eBay before I go to sleep (damn wireless) and have discovered that I'm more prone to stupid purchases at 1am than at any other time of the day. I guess everything looks better then you're half asleep...
Now I wake up to emails from paypal and ebay thanking me for my purchases... That isn't the most pleasant of wake up calls as yeah, I like my money.
I admit that sometimes I'm in my right mind and have bought stupid things (to others at least) on purpose...
A few nights ago I bought a Doctor Who Fob Watch.
Why? Well... I needed a watch for starters. I was also on the UK version of amazon, which is nice because they really don't ship the good stuff to the US so there's no harm in looking. But I saw the watch and I was like... I could use a watch (because in fact I do). But... not only is it a watch, it have speech, sounds, and lights! Three things I really like all jam packed together! :-) After I discovered that I could not order the fob watch from this amazon, I checked eBay and low and behold! I bought it. From the United Kingdom. Um... yeah. I have problems. I mean, I'm really excited about it and all but when I think back to why I need it, it becomes less cool.
You see... I'm in a class called IPE5. In this class we have practicals where we actually take someone blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, etc. We had our CV practical a week ago and I have to take someones heart rate. I had to make something up as yeah, no watch to tell time with.
Sooooooooo now I'm getting a watch for professional reasons and yeah... It friggin lights up and plays sounds. Wasn't that the best idea ever?
Other recent slighty stupid purchases I've made are:
- The 4 disc edition of the Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe (You know, I don't really even like this movie. In fact, I hated the book... W T F!?)
- Doctor Who: The Complete Third Series (That's the one with Martha. She's one of my favorite companions!)
